Church of Christ Congregational (UCC), Norfolk, CT

We seek to follow Jesus Christ and to keep Christ at the center of our lives. We look to Christ as the head of this local church and of the church universal. We rely upon the teachings of Christ in all things, commit ourselves to following Christ’s teachings, and strive to live as a member of the body of Christ in and through this local church. We also understand that we may learn from friends of good will beyond our tradition.

Open and affirming:

We are an Open and Affirming church. We welcome into full membership and participation in the Body of Christ persons of every race, nationality, age, gender, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, physical and mental ability, economic or marital status, family structure and faith background. We extend a welcoming hand to all, and continually endeavor to ensure that we are accessible, friendly, and diverse; living more and more fully into our identity as a place of extravagant welcome. Seeking and serving:

We are a seeking and serving member congregation of the United Church of Christ with a rich, deep Congregational history. We desire to learn more about the teachings and will of the Still-speaking God, and we strive to serve God by working with others in service to this community, to each other in time of need, and to the less fortunate.

A loving community:

We need each other. We share our joys and sorrows, our hopes and dreams, and support each other in ministry with our prayers, finances, talents, time and energy. We recognize that this local church is one part of the Body of Christ and that each person is a valued part of that body with gifts to share with each other and our world. We care deeply for each other and we seek to extend God’s love to our neighbors, friends and strangers alike.
