Dedication of the Chairs
On Tuesday we invited our friends from Redeemer’s AME Zion church in Plainville, as well as the owners of Olde Farms Furniture in East Canaan, who donated the chairs, friends from Mad River Painting, who painted the chairs in colors chosen by Rev. Dr. Shelley Best, Pastor of Redeemer’s as well as members, staff and friends of the Church representing our Fellowship and Growth and Missions/Social Justice Teams. We have been in “The Collaboration” with Redeemer’s for some time and it was wonderful to see our friends in person again, rather than via Zoom.
We dedicated the skin-toned chairs to represent a hopeful future of racial justice and peace and then shared a lunch of sandwiches, juice and cookies, and sweet conversation.
