In God’s Time

Our last picture of the week showed Melanie Allen releasing a newly hatched Monarch butterfly. On the same September day that butterfly was released Melanie took a 3/8″ Monarch caterpillar home and fed it milkweed leaves until it grew quite large, crawled to the top of her enclosure, formed a “j” and went into a chrysalis. That butterfly was released last weekend. Another female Monarch to make the long trip to Mexico.

This week the Rev. Dr. Shelly Best, pastor of Redeemers AME Zion Church in Plainfield and Norfolk native, posted this picture on Instagram. Very timely, and reminding us of the need to allow time for our own growth and formation.
