Sunday In-Person Worship Suspended Indefinitely
But… Community Building Continues!
Even though we’re physically apart, here are a number of different ways to stay connected as a community. Please check out these ways to see and hear friends, grow in spirit and faith, and find some true joy in the midst of it all!
ONLINE WORSHIP VIDEO
We began last week creating and posting a video that included prayers, Scripture, beautiful images from around town, a sermon, and uplifting music. We do so each Sunday morning at 9:45 AM through Facebook and by email – and this will continue into the future. You do not need a Facebook account (just click NOT NOW if Facebook prompts you to join. Watch, enjoy, share! Past weeks’ videos are available on this website.
THURSDAY MORNING PRAYER New Time – 11 AM
Pastor Erick will gather a group – again via Zoom – at 11 AM so that we may share and pray together. We will take about 15 minutes to check in, then pray from about 11:15-11:30 AM. This platform allows participants to come and go, which means we can remain connected for as long as needed. Again, if you wish to participate in this, we need to send you an invitation – so please try to let Pastor Erick know before 10:30 AM each Thursday.
MONDAY NIGHT BIBLE HISTORY STUDY
In this 6-week series, led by Kelly Kandra Hughes, we will use The Great Courses: The Story of the Bible to learn about how the Bible came to be. This course is available through Norfolk Library using their Hoopla eMedia service (free to anyone with a Norfolk Library card). Our first meeting will be on Monday 4/6, 7-8:15 PM. In order to participate, you will need a link for the Zoom meeting. For more information or to register, please contact Kelly at email@example.com or 919-260-9232.
PHONE TREE and CALLING EACH OTHER
It has been heartwarming to hear and see stories of people ramping up their phone calling and other forms of outreach! While doing so doesn’t require participation in an “official” system or network, church leaders are working to coordinate a phone tree of members and friends and beyond. If you’d like to be part of this outreach, please let Pastor Erick know – whether you wish to call or be called.
NorfolkNET EMERGENCY HELP AVAILABLE
Pastor Erick continues to keep in touch with our First Selectman and other leaders about how to meet needs in town, particularly for those who need access to the NorfolkNET Norfolk Food Pantry or other emergency needs. If you or anyone you know faces such needs, please know that the church is here to help.
IF YOU HAVE OTHER IDEAS ABOUT STAYING CONNECTED, LET ME KNOW!
Pastor Erick may be reached via email at firstname.lastname@example.org, by cell at (860) 303-0910 or through direct messages on Facebook.
